Finding sewing inspo during lockdown can be hard, especially since we can’t let you all in to touch and see the fabric in person! So we have put together a few of our dream makes at the moment.
First is a pattern I have yet to make but has been on my to-do list for a while. The Sudley Dress by Megan Nielsen is a loose fitted dress with keyhole opening at the neck and gathered waist. Perfect to be made out of rayon for spring and summer. I’d love to see it made up in our new Emerald and Orange Leopard Print rayon.
Although we are looking forward to Spring, Melbourne’s weather hasn’t quite caught up yet. Our two new Boiled Wool colours will add a bit of brightness to the end of winter. I’ve already made a Whitney Jumper by van den Berg Fashion out of them. This is a pattern I have made a lot and the second time I’ve used boiled wool for it.
Another pattern I have yet to try out but has been super popular is the Collins Top by In the Folds. It’s a great pattern to play with stripes due to all the panel pieces. I’ve been looking for a project to use our new Neon Stripe Linen for and I think this might be it! The linen will hold the shape of the top nicely, and the pattern will work out great with all the panels.
We would love to see what you are making for spring, don’t forget to tag us on instagram @darncheapfabrics!
