Gingham is back in a big way, it’s all over the runways and in the shops! We’ve got a great range of ginghams in including our brand new 100% Linen Gingham. Both have a rich brown base with two colour options Navy or Brown. Below we have a few pictures of our Ready-To-Wear inspirations as well as some patterns that would work wonderfully with this fabric.
A simple dress is always a great way to show off gingham. We are in love with this dress which is similar to McCalls Pattern M7969.
The best thing about these warmer gingham colours is they can be paired down or dressed up! Pop on some comfy shoes and go to a picnic in the day, swap out for some heels and nice jewelry for dinner at night! Plus our ginghams being 100% Linen make them perfect for summer. So they are breathable for the warmer weather.
Some more pattern ideas include the Selina Dress perfect if you’re after something a little more fitted. The Darling Ranges dress is another great summer dress that could transition to Autumn with some boots and tights.
Another Ready-To-Wear piece we are loving is this tired gathered skirt. This style of skirt is actually super easy to make! DIY Daisy has a great tutorial on her blog, it’s a simple but effective make. Great for a beginner sewer.
More fun patterns to use with our Linen Gingham are the Olive Dress and Top as well as the Viola Skirt. All the patterns mentioned are available in stores and online – with the exception of the McCalls pattern. If a store is out of stock of a pattern you are after we are always happy to order it in for you!
